What is Qardus Fixed Income?

Our fixed income product provides investors with exposure to a diversified portfolio of UK-based SMEs. By deploying capital into the "real economy," the strategy targets stable, asset-backed returns through Sharia-compliant financing structures. It is designed for those seeking an ethical alternative to conventional fixed income, prioritizing capital preservation while supporting the growth of UK-based SMEs.

What is a Financing Agreement?

The Financing Agreement is structured as a Commodity Murabahah Facility provided to Qardus Finance Limited (QFL), a Murabahah-based Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to fund small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). QFL is a member of the Qardus Group. It is important to note that this financing agreement does not constitute a designated investment for the purposes of UK financial services regulation.

Is Qardus regulated to provide investment services?

Investors provide Shariah-compliant financing to UK SME businesses. The financing agreement does not constitute an investment that is designated for the purposes of UK financial services regulation.  Accordingly, Qardus is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and investors do not have rights under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service. Any money that you invest under the financing agreement is at risk and you will not be able to access it unless and until it is repaid by the SME. Qardus does not provide advice on whether investing is suitable in light of your individual financial circumstances. If you are in any doubt about investing, you should consider seeking advice from an appropriately qualified investment professional.

How are the investments Sharia-compliant?

Compliance is achieved through strict ethical screening that avoids sectors like gambling, alcohol, and interest-based finance, focusing instead on industries that create real social and economic value. Our operations are overseen by a dedicated Sharia Board led by Mufti Faraz Adam from Amanah Advisors. You can download the Sharia certificate here.
